Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his home with community service. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of nine kids who were raised by Eufala with Lucious Selmon. A second reason was he is the youngest of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the USA. Lee Roy won two championships, and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. The National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in the year 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from Education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week while he attended college. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and was a member of the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relations officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 outstanding youngsters across the nation. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He coached his university team in the year 1975. In 1993, Roy joined the University of South Florida's sports department as its associate director. In 1988, he was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into an appearance in the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
